Spine dorsali (totale): 3; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 25; Spine anali 3; Raggi anali molli: 15; Vertebre: 26. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: D III,25, all segmented rays are branched; A III,15 where anal-fin spines are moderately stout and pungent, the second spine stouter than third; scales in lateral series 37-38; circumpeduncular scales 16; predorsal scales 15, extending anteriorly to anterior AIO pores; caudal fin is rounded (Ref. 118103).
