Espinas dorsales (total): 3; Radios blandos dorsales (total): 7; Espinas anales 3; Radios blandos anales: 5. he species of Cobitis is distinguished by the following set of characters: D III-7; A: III-5; V: I-6; P: I-7-8; C: IV-14-16-IV. Compressed and small head. Rounded snout. Location of the eyes are on the upper middle of the head. Small mouth with three pairs of short barbels. Colouration: Head sprinkled with many black dots, and a black stripe extended from the insertion of rostral barbels to eye. One small jet spot on the upper half of the caudal fin base and way smaller than eye diameter.
