Description synthétique Morphologie | Morphométrie

This species is distinguished by the following characters: well-developed adipose fin without a spine; maxillary barbel of small specimens reaches the operculum, surpasses this structure in large specimens; length of first pectoral-fin ray is greater than the head length, 8 branched rays associated to the third radial; first pelvic-fin ray reaching past the anal aperture; premaxillary with 2 1/2 rows of teeth, the outer row with 9-13 conic and semi-curved teeth and 1-2 bicuspid teeth; caudal fin with equal upper and lower lobes; free vertebrae 25; fifth ceratobranchial with 8 teeth on the upper portion (Ref. 128914).
