পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 7; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 16; পায়ূ কাঁটা 1; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 16 - 17; কশেরুকা : 26. This species differs from its congeners in having scales on the cheek and operculum, and with the first dorsal fin of males shaped like a horse’s mane (Ref. 84007).
