Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 9; Rayons mous anaux: 9 - 11; Vertèbres: 31 - 32. Distinguished from its congeners by the possession of nine dorsal-fin rays (vs. eight, very rarely nine in Phalloceros mikrommatos, Phalloceros caudimaculatus, Phalloceros elachistos, Phalloceros titthos, Phalloceros harpagos, Phalloceros spiloura, and Phalloceros reisi) (Ref. 76852).
