眼的下面邊緣是在相當上面距離一條線從吻尖到尾叉中央。 眼是相當大的, 它的直徑些微大於眼間隔。 整體的色彩是銀白色, 淺灰色的在上面的背面上。 有大約 5-7 狹窄的不規則的橫帶, 那可能是非常模糊的, 側邊上。 一個突出的邊緣藍色又黃色的條紋從眼睛前方在包含鼻孔的上嘴唇之上。 頰部淡黃色的有 3 或 4 斜紋從上頜上方到眼的後面部份向上傾斜。 鰭主要是清澈或微白色的。 一個黑色的斑點在上面胸鰭鰭條的基底; 橫過整個鰭的基底的一條狹窄的褐色橫帶。
Occurs over sand, mud, and rubble areas. Feed mainly on small bottom-living gastropods. Marketed fresh or dried-salted. Also caught with bottom longlines and handlines (Ref. 9775).
