Comments:
Type locality, Dumaguete, Negros (holotype of Hemitriakis leucopteriptera, 95.5 cm TL, pregnant female with 12 fetuses (20-21.8 cm TL)), probably lost. Compagno examined SU-27118, fetuses (male, 16.9 cm; female,17 cm), since found to be considerably smaller, these are presumably are not part of the type series but may be conspecific because of the low vertebral counts and similarity in morphology and coloration (Ref. 47737). WWF Elasmobranch Collection: fish ports/markets from Cadiz, Iloilo and Cebu cities (Ref. 47736, 47737). Presumably taken by local fisheries but details are unknown (Ref. 244). Also Ref. 13563.
