Comments: Type locality of the holotype of Aphyosemion mengilai: 'Gabon, Province de la Ngounié, Département de Tsamba-Magotsi, 42 km east of Ikobey (Ikobé), small stream named Obélé in the village Evouta, 01°03'75"S, 11°11'34"E' (Ref. 95601). Known from Ikoy River, part of the Ogowe River basin (Ref. 95601).
