E. chevalieri chevalieri is present in various right bank tributaires of the lower and middle Congo River system from the Djoué up to the Likouala-aux-Herbes, including the Léfini, Alima and Likouala, in southeastern and eastern Republic of Congo; E. chevalieri nigricans is absent (Ref. 47774).
