Description synthétique Morphologie | Morphométrie

Épines dorsales (Total): 11; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 21-22; Épines anales 3; Rayons mous anaux: 16 - 17; Vertèbres: 24. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: pored lateral-line scales 36-43; distal portion of the outer branch of first pelvic-fin soft ray a long filament, extending considerably from posterior contour of fin, first soft ray length 119%-123% of second ray; no black blotch on membranes associated with the first and second dorsal-fin spines; upper jaw naked, scaleless; pelvic-fin spine and first soft ray broadly whitish, and the remaining portions of fin black (in preserved specimens); the second black body band crossing pectoral-fin base, with no pale narrow interrupting lines; ocellated spot on dorsal-fin soft-rayed portion is more circular than oval, ratio of long axis/short axis of blotch 1.2-1.3 (Ref. 126057).
