背棘 (總數): 4; 背的軟條 (總數): 8; 臀棘 0; 臀鰭軟條: 7. A pair of supraorbital cirri present. The first dorsal fin of male high, broad and with many narrow white lines. Preopercular spine with an antrorse process at base which is absent in N. ocellatus and N. morrisoni. Attains 7 cm SL.
一對眶上的觸鬚呈現。 第一背鰭雄魚高的, 寬的而且有許多狹窄的白色線。 前鰓蓋骨棘有一個在基底的向前及向上的突起是不存在於 N. ocellatus 與 N. morrisoni. 達到 7 公分 SL 。
Inhabits coral and rocky reefs. Found on algal covered rocks and boulders (Ref. 9710).
