Vertebrae: 45 - 47. Diagnosis: Differs from its congeners in having an interorbital width of 8.9-11.5% head length (HL); caudal fin truncate to slightly rounded; 18-31 well-developed dorsolateral scales ; 45-50 lateral line scales; 4-10 transverse dermal folds of breast; 67-99 oblique dermal folds; 23-25 dorsal-fin rays; 17-19 pectoral-fin rays; 7-12 gill rakers; first infraorbital pore length 3.6-5% HL; the peritoneum unpigmented or at most with few, widely spaced melanophores (Ref. 57076).
Specimens were trawled off bottoms of mud, fine sand, rock, and clay (Ref. 57076).
