Vertebrae: 24. Predorsal scales 3-4; preopercular margin minutely serrate; preopercular ridge mainly smooth except a few weak crenations on lower portion; body depth 3.0-3.2 in SL; overall color light coppery brown with gold suffusion on opercle and middle of side, pair of thin brown stripes on upper half of body, and black spot at base of caudal fin (Ref. 44115).
Found hovering around a large coral formation (Ref. 44115). Usually in aggregations (Ref 90102).
