Espinas dorsales (total): 9; Radios blandos dorsales (total): 29; Espinas anales 3; Radios blandos anales: 28. This species is distinguished by the following characters:D IX; pectoral-fin rays 13; body deeply rhomboid with greatest depth 113.8-118.8% SL; premaxilla strongly bent in the middle; scales with deep apical crest armed with numerous spines arranged in several rows distributed in almost all lateral surface of crest. Colour of soft dorsal, anal and caudal fins in life bright-yellow (Ref. 123097)
