Description: deep-bodied; frontal profile straight to slightly concave; caudal fin rounded (Ref. 52307).

Coloration: body in both sexes bronze-brown, darker dorsally; opercles of males bluish, and some body scales with a red base; numerous reddish maculae in dorsal, caudal and anal fins, in latter some lightly-ocellated; when courting, lower body often with greenish flush (Ref. 52307).
