Description: Characterized by pale grey to brownish color, grading to white ventrally; head length about 7-8 in TL; body depth 27-40 in TL; eye 8-12 in head length; dorsal fin closer to gill opening that to anus; dorsal and anal fins confluent with caudal fin; no pectoral fins; moderately pointed snout projecting slightly beyond lower jaw; rear margin of eye only slightly anterior to corner of mouth; small gill opening below midlateral position; teeth small and conical in narrow bands in jaws; biserial vomerine teeth, becoming uniserial posteriorly (Ref. 90102).
