Distinguished from its congeners by possessing a unique combination of the following characters: 36-38 vertebrae, strongly elevated neural spines of the last 2-3 preanal and first 6-7 postanal vertebrae, length of adipose-fin base 26.8-30.4% SL, pelvic fins reaching the base of the first anal-fin ray and the presence of pale spots on the body (Ref. 55391). Description: Dorsal fin with i,5, i,5,i or i,6 rays; anal fin with iv,7, iv,8, v,6, v,6,i, or v,7 rays; pectoral fin with i,12, i,13, or i,14 rays; pelvic fin with ii,5 rays (Ref. 55391). |
