Diagnosis

Pectoral -fin rays free and silk-like. Dorsal and anal fins with chocolate-brown distal margins. Top of skull bony, adductor mandibulae complex not originating from frontal bone as in congeners. Epineurals present from 1st precaudal vertebrae to 10th caudal vertebrae. Pelvic fin long when compared with O. rebecca. Cycloid scales embedded on head and body. Eyes rudimentary but distinct, covered by skin. Several short barbels may be present on underside of chin (Ref. 45323).
