Diagnosis

Strikingly contrasts with other Argyrosomus species by its short, beak-like snout and its concave dorsal profile. Also differs from its congeners by its large eyes (23.8-26.9% HL), narrow interorbital width (15.2-15.6% HL), and long pectoral (23.2-23.8% SL) and pelvic (22.4-23.3% SL) fins.
