Diagnosis: 22-25 scales in lateral line (Ref. 81639).

Description: mouth small and subinferior; lower lip largely interrupted medially; scales with numerous divergent striae; postoccipital region and ventrum more or less naked; scale formula: 2.5-3.5/22-25/3.5/1.5-2/10-12; dorsal fin border straight or slightly concave; D: III, 8; A: III,5; P: 13-14; V: 8; caudal deeply forked (Ref. 81639).

Coloration: ground coloration brownish or yellow brown dorsally, pale brown or yellow ventrally; scales of lateral line have dark brown base; dorsal fin crossed by large black band and has black margin; anal fin has black margin; caudal fin grey with a more or less well-developed black margin; pectoral and pelvic fins uniformly grey or white (Ref. 81639).
