توضيحات Introduced before 1955. Also introduced as a forage fish for bass. May have genetically contaminated the indigenous O. mossambicus populations in the Wewe river as well as competed for spawning grounds. (Ref. 6465). Probably still established in the Wewe River catchment in Natal. Since this species became established in aquaculture ponds in Eerste and Lourens River catchments in 1964, it is probable that breeding stocks may still exist in these areas.
