Comments | Captured in Iskenderun Bay in 2008 and considered to have entered the Mediterranean via ballast water (Ref. 85233). The high number of recent Lessepsian migrations on the eastern Mediterranean is more likely a result of the widening and deepening of the Suez canal, habitat degradation and other factors linked to climate change (Ref. 96897).
