Comments: | First collected in 1963 (Ref. 13364). Introduced into the Sacramento-San Joaquin River in California. Explosive spread in San Francisco bay area (Ref. 2002). If these were to continue to spread into streams, lagoons and bays of California, these may eradicate local populations of Tidewater gobies (Eucyclogobius newberryi)or Staghorn Sculpin (Leptocottus armatus) (Ref. 13364).
