Comments: | Invaded clean watercourses and oligotrophic lakes. Tolerates slightly acidified waters (pH 5,5-4,0). Established in very few water bodies. It is difficult to estimate wild population numbers due to frequent introductions. It has been suggested that selective piscicides be utilized to control the species (e.g. in Tatrza?ski National Park). Hybridized with the Brown trout Salmo trutta(Ref. 55773). Also Ref. 1739.
