Comments: First recorded from the Mediterranean coast of Israel before 1953 (Ref. 12815, 72453). In 1966, it has been described as "found quite frequently among trawl fishes". In 1978 it has been reported as common and in 2010, it has been reported as very common and found in trawl catches 20-50 m deep (Ref. 93649).
