Fish affected:    
Symptoms: Gills of the infected fish is fused.  
Treatments: Applications of 0.125-0.150 ppm Bromex twice weekly. Note: At lower salinities the recommended doses is toxic to the fish, but with exception to Tilapia or carp which can tolerate a wide ramge of salinities. Other organophosphate treatments like Neguvon (Dipteryx, Masoten) or Malathion is equally effective (Ref. 45600).  
Prophylaxis: Avoidance of stress related factors like poor water condition, overcrowding, and nutritional deficiency (Ref. 45600).
