Ranges from off northern Australia south to Perth in Western Australia and southern New South Wales (Ref. 6871); including Lord Howe I. (Ref. 8879) and the Ashmore and Cartier Islands (Ref. 75154). Caught by game fishers off Queensland and New South Wales during the summer (Ref. 6871). Not utilized commercially (Ref. 6871). Also Ref. 244, 2334, 7300, 9997.
