Comments

Prior to building the Cahora Bassa dam it occurred in the Zambezi River as far up as Kariba Gorge (Ref. 13337). Also known from the Ruenya River (Ref. 244, 13337, 13721) and near the Save/Runde [=Lundi] confluence (Ref. 13337). It is rare in Zimbabwean waters, up until 1988 less than half a dozen specimens were recorded (Ref. 13337). Also Ref. 12524.
