Considered critically endangered in 2000 (Ref. 41386). This species occurs in the lower stretches of the rivers Morava (in a stretch about 30 km long) and Dyje (in a stretch about 25 km long). Former range consisted of considerably longer part of the stream of these rivers. Protected under Law 114/1992 and Intimation 395/1992) (Ref. 52149). Also Ref. 54732, 90060.
