Comments

In the last century, this species frequented nearly 1,700 km of the whole Rhône basin (Rhône, Ain, Isère, Gard, Durance, Saône and its tributaries the Ognon, Ouche…). It disappeared from Côte d'Or around 1940 and gradually almost completely from its area of distribution with the deterioration of its habitat. Today, it occurs only in 17% of the area that it occupied in the last century. Today, it is still present in Doubs and the Loue where it is threatened by the construction of a waterway. It is among the species which require a strict protection (Annex IV of the European Directive on the conservation of the natural habitats as well as flora and fauna) (Ref. 30578). Also Ref. 3881.

Status of threat: Endangered (Ref. 74334).
