Found only in the area of the type locality, close to the road BR-349, about 12 km W from the town of Bom Jesus da Lapa. Another specimen was caught in a pool near the village of Malhada, about 135 km S of the type locality, suggesting a wider geographical distribution in the middle São Franciso basin. This species should be classified as endangered due to its rarity and the highly deforested state of the area of the type locality (Ref. 97357). |
