Type locality, Northern Territory, Victoria River, Wattie Creek, NTM S.11543-004 (holotype of Leptachirus triramus, 3.96 cm SL, male). Collected from the Northern Territory (Wattie Creek, Victoria River, Daly River, and possibly including those from West Baines River) and Western Australia (two localities in the Ord River, only about 100 km separate the mouths of the Victoria and Ord Rivers) (Ref. 84817).
