Occurs in the Iberian Peninsula (Ref. 119049). Found along Atlantic coast between Huelva and Gulf of Cadiz, known from 9 localities (extirpated in one of them ). Collected from Arroyo de Moscardo between Lebrija and Las Cabeza de San Juan and Arroyo Salado (Ref. 126233). Freshwater populations are seriously threatened due to the introduction of Gambusia holbrooki and Fundulus heteroclitus (Ref. 59043).

Status of threat: Endangered (Ref. 59043, 119049).
