Found in Batman River, a tributary of upper Tigris at Catalköprü, about 18 km east from Silvan (Ref. 92804). Reported from Batman and Ambar rivers and was last seen in 1974. Fourteen were then caught recently using tight-weave nets, in the shallow, rocky, fast-flowing areas of the Sarim stream and another nine in the Han stream. Of no economic value (Ref. 125633).

Status of threat: Critically Endangered. Man made pollution and dam construction are threats (Ref. 125633)..
