Known from Lake Rukwa basin (Ref. 27292, 118638), Lake Nyasa [= Lake Malawi] basin southwards (Ref. 4967, 118638), and upper tributaries of the Ruaha system (Ref. 118638). In the Mbeya District, it is known from Lake Ikapu and has been stocked in Lake Kiungululu, where it is now the most numerous species and may represent a threat to the endemic Oreochromis chungruruensis (Ref. 118638). |
