Present in the southern Congo River basin (Ref. 120641) in the Kwango, Kwilu and Kasai drainages (middle Congo River basin)(Ref. 11970). Also known from the Cubango/Okavango, Cuvelai (Etosha Pan), (upper) Zambezi and Kunene (Ref. 11970, 120641). Report from the "Cuanza (Atlantic coastal)" (Ref. 120641) probably refers to the Cuanzan drainage basin or Cuanza Ichthyological Province, including various Angolan coastal basins, and not (only) the Cuanza river basin.
