Occurs in eastern China, from Gansu eastward to Jiangsu and southward

to Guangxi. Native to Amur basin and Lake Khanka (Ref. 13397). Also

found in Lianzi Lake (Ref. 38003), the Tarim River (Ref. 41093), and

the Hanjiang, Dongjiang, Xijiang and Nandujiang rivers (Ref. 33792).

Caused the extinction of three endemic fish species in Lake Lugu,

Sichuan Province (1739). Also Ref. 12217, 35840, 45679, 89110.
