Widespread around the British Isles (8-283 m), although more abundant along the southern coast, with maximum catch rates of 88 ind/hr. Catches in the central and northern North Sea were patchy. A high abundance of juveniles was recorded in Cardigan Bay, off the east coast of Ireland and around Anglesey (Ref. 82399).
