Found in the Tigris-Euphrates and Quwaiq River systems. In Iraq,

it is recorded from the southern marshes, rivers such as the Tigris and Saddam (Main Outfall Drain), streams such as the one at Sarchinar in the Diyala River basin, lakes such as Habbaniyah, Th arthar and Razzazah, and reservoirs such as Al Qadisiyah Dam Lake on the Euphrates River (Ref. 109283).
