Known from the Amazon River basin, in the Tapajós River drainage, Maués River, and near Parintins (Ref. 36377). Type locality: Amazon R. drainage at Lake Maximo, Lake Jose Assu, Rio Tonantins, R. Hyavary, R. Tajapuru, Brazil (Ref. 12965). Also Ref. 12251.
