First introduced in 1922 into streams around Kaneohe Bay, O'ahu; most often found in the mid-reaches of streams and in high-elevation reservoirs, such as the Ho'omaluhia and the Nu'uana Reservoirs where it was introduced in the latter in 1940; known to carry parasitic nematodes and tapeworms that have infected native populations of o'opu (Ref. 44091). Known from O'ahu and Kaua'i (Ref. 58302). |
