Reported to occur in southeastern Brazil, in Espírito Santo (Ref. 57756) and the record in Ref. 40101 for Halieutichthys caribbaeus for the Brazilian coast was considered to refer to this species. However, the occurrence is outside the distributional range of H. aculeatus and H. carribaeus is considered a valid species (Ref. 85070). |
