Comments |
Present where native Anguilla anguilla thrive. Analyzed eels from the Schwentine system had an average age of 12 years and remained in the system for many years. It is capable of competing for food and space with native Anguilla anguilla, increasing pressure on already depleted stock. Furthermore, A. rostrata is more susceptible (than A. anguilla) to the Asian swimbladder nematode, Anguillicola crassus and could support the proliferation of the parasite (Ref. 96398). |
