Occurs in Odra and Morava river basins (Ref. 54732). Since 1996, the government has supported in situ conservation of rare/endangered breeds. Artificial propagation is well established and used in several hatcheries to produce fed fry, advanced fry or yearlings for fish farms as well as for restocking (Ref. 32234). Also Ref. 556, 90060.
