Occurs in the Mekong basin. Found in the middle Xe Bangfai, a Mekong tributary (Ref. 27732). Recorded from just above the Lee Pee or Khone waterfalls (Ref. 31465). Found in Ban Hang Khone, a village on an island in the middle of the mainstream Mekong River just below the Great Khone Waterfalls in Khong District, Champasak Province (Ref. 37767), Ngam Ngum Reservoir and Vientiane (Ref. 12369). In Thakhek, it occurs under shrubs in pools of the main Mekong River near the mouths of tributaries (Ref. 37770).
