Known from Karnataka and Kerala of the Western Ghats (Ref. 4832). Recorded from Netravathi River in south Canara (south-western Karnataka) but probably occurs through a wider range in the south Karnataka and north Kerala regions (Ref. 100448). Endangered (Ref. 41236). Also Ref. 45255.

Status of threat: Data deficient (Ref. 50614).
