Occurs in the Sagami River of the Kanagawa Prefecture and the Omono River of the Akita Prefecture (Ref. 559). In a recent survey, this species is also found in Honshu except for the waters facing the Seto Inland Sea, and in southern Shikoku and eastern Kyushu (Ref. 56353).

Status of threat: Vulnerable (Ref. 94887).
