Known from the Mekong, Chao Phraya and Maeklong basins (Ref. 26336). Rare throughout its range and is becoming rarer. Might already be gone from the Chao Phraya basin (Ref. 10418); also from Bangkok, Nakhon, Ratchasima, Phitsanulok, Pasak river (Sara Buri), Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Songkhla and Chanthaburi (Ref. 37773).
