Known from the Gulf of Venezuela, Maracaibo Lake, the Anzoátegui coast, the Paria Gulf, Orinoco delta and the Guiana region (Ref. 9626). Found in Pedernales channel, mouth of Pedernales channel - Cotorra Island, Mánamo channel - Güinamorena, Guanipa river - Venado channel, Manamito channel and mouth of Bagre (Ref. 51849). Used as bait for Gobioides broussonetti (Ref. 9626).
