Type locality, Nha Trang Bay, Cho Cua Be, ZIN no. 54265 (holotype of Parapercis bicoloripes, 15.5 cm SL). This species seems to be rare in the Nha Trang Bay where, in spite of a many-year search only one specimen is found. It is rather common in the Phan Thiet Bay and may be expected in southern Vietnam (Nha Trang is the northern most point of its area) (Ref. 85566).
